In October 2007 HH SHRIMAT SADYOJAT SHANKARASHRAM SWAMIJI undertook a successful Yatra to Aadi-Badri, the Udgam-Sthal of River Saraswati. The Tercentenary Commemoration activities of Shri Chitrapur Math commenced with this Yatra to pay obeisance to our 'Mother', Maa Saraswati by whose name we are known.

As part of the concluding activities of the Tercentenary Commemoration, Ahmedabad Sabha has arranged a yatra (Concluding Saraswati Yatra) to Siddhpur, Anhilawad-Patan, Nal Sarovar (the relic of River Saraswati) and Prabhas-Patan, Somnath where the River Saraswati meets the Arabian Sea, in the divine presence of H. H. Shrimat Sadyojat Shankarashram Swamiji.

It would symbolically represent that we Chitrapur Saraswats have traveled across the path of River Saraswati during the Tercentenary Year of our Math - from Udgam-Sthal to the place where the River Saraswati meets the Arabian Sea.

Yatra Schedule (ex Ahmedabad) Day & Date Time Activity Mon. 26 Jan. 2009 8:00 am onwards Arrival at Ahmedabad.. Volunteers will receive the devotees at the station and arrange for their transport to the Registartion location. Tues 27 Jan. 2009 5.30 am Depart for Anhilawad-Patan/ Sidhpur by bus. Visit Rani-ki-Vav, Rudhramahalaya, Bindu Sarovar, Banks of River Saraswati. Return to Ahmedabad. Wed. 28 Jan. 2009 4:00 am Leave for Somnath via Nal Sarovar by bus. Arrival Somnath 10 p.m. Night halt at Somnath. Thu. 29 Jan. 2009 7:00 am Visit old and new Somnath temples, Prabhas-Patan, Triveni Sangam, where River Saraswati meets the sea. Visit to Bhalka Teerth, Geeta Mandir, "Jay Somnath" Sound-n-Light show, Night halt at Somnath Fri. 30 Jan. 2009 6:00 am Return to Ahmedabad via Gir Forest. Arrival Ahmedabad 8.00 p.m. Night halt at Ahmedabad. Sat. 31 Jan. 2009 Morning Dharma Sabha. Yatra concludes. Afternoon Dispersal. Transport arrangements will be made to move the devotees to the station.

Cost for the Yatra per Devotee: Rs.7,500/- inclusive of To & Fro AC Chair Car fare from Mumbai to Ahmedabad & back by Shatabdi Express, ex Ahmedabad transportation by 2 X 2 Non AC Buses, 5 nights / 6 days stay, meals, and other miscellaneous costs.

Rs.6,000/- for those devotees who would be making their own arrangements to Ahmedabad and back. This cost will include ex Ahmedabad transportation, 5 nights / 6 days stay, meals, and other miscellaneous costs. Devotees coming by their own vehicle to Ahmedabad should note that except H.H. retinue, everyone will move by common transport organized by Ahmedabad Sabha. Arrangements for parking of the vehicles will be made in Ahmedabad.

Note
1) Registration and payment will be accepted on a first come-first served basis. Yatris should be physically fit to undergo a total journey of 1200 kms by bus over 4 days and be able to bear cold weather (7 to 8 degrees celcius) during that part of the year.

2) Devotees may make their own arrangements to Ahmedabad & back. Sabhas may arrange for centralized bookings. Ex Mumbai bookings will be done by Tercentenary Secretariat.
